Photo Shoot with Elise

Elise is a complete wiggle worm, but we were able to capture some cute shots! She is so sweet with her little baby doll, and gives hugs like a good little mama!

Crazy Smuf-Shark

We had a little bit of fun with Elise's hair! I don't know if I imagined this or not, but it seems as if Elise's hair grew an inch when she was here, using fabulous Washington water!

Puyallup Fair

We went to the Puyallup Fair the first day it opened this year- so we experienced the perfect balance of people and space:) Laura and I had not been on a fair ride for more than 10 years, so after braving the ferris wheel (that is Laura below freaking out), we went for the fast-moving Octopus...dun, dun, dun... The girl accepting tickets asked us semi-incredulously if we were in line to actually ride the Octopus (as most of the other riders were under the age of 10 years). Oh my goodness! Laura and I thought we were going to die! I am soooo glad we didn't even think to go for the bungee-jump ride. Most of the time we were screaming and/or keeping our eyes closed. We will certainly have to work our way up to the 10 and over rides:)

A walk and lunch

Elies is constantly trying to get you to let her down so she can walk, but since she is new to the walking game, she usually wants to get picked up after about a city block!

Elise's Antics

Elise has so much energy, and is constantly wiggling around! She puts herself in precarious places and has a healthy curiosity. Here is Elise slipping through the antique bed frame in my guestroom. She also adores brushing her teeth, so we had several sessions of teeth brushing...and of course she needs to perfect this, as she currently has 8 teeth.

Laura and Elise come to visit Seattle

Laura and Elise came to visit in early September and we had a fabulous time! God gave us lots of sunshine, and Laura was able to appreciate all the Seattle-fabulous things; the things I take for granted. For example, she finds it very difficult to find good smoothies in Roswell, NM (so the first trip we made after she got off the plane was to Emerald City Smoothie). We also enjoyed other NW favs such as Sushi and vegan food. I had prepared a 1920's guest room for Laura and Elise, but had yet to find a playpen for Elise to sleep in (everyone on Craigslist kept on selling them out from under me!). We left poor, unsupecting Paul to watch Elise while Laura and I went to the store to purchase a playpen. Oh, the sorrow! Elise sat on the couch and silently cried crocodile tears because she missed her mommy. Paul said he had never seen anything so incredibly sad in his life!

Elise was making a kissie face, just like Laura

So sweet when she wants to be

Her hair has amazing memory....she looks a little like Wolvarine here:)
